A condition in which air or gas is present in the chest cavity. POLIO. A disease caused by the poliovirus that can result in muscle weakness and or paralysis. POLIOVIRUS. The virus responsible for the disease called polio. POLYARTHRITIS. Inflammation of several joints at the same time. POLYDACTYLY. The presence of extra fingers or toes. POLYDIPSIA. Excessive thirst. POLYMORPHISM. A difference in DNA sequence among individuals genetic variation. POLYNEUROPATHY. Peripheral neuropathy affecting multiple nerves. POLYP. Piece of skin that pouches outward. POLYSOMNOGRAM. A machine that is used to diagnose sleep disorders by measuring and recording a variety of body functions related to sleep .
