On the contrary bending stresses for design cases 1b and 1c are higher than they are for the existing case of design as shown in Fig. b . A substantial reduction of contact stresses could be achieved as well for the gear for design cases 1b and 1c with respect to the existing design of the gear of the gear drive. The same results as previously discussed for the pinion have been obtained for the gear for design cases 1b and 1c as shown in Fig. .
