However it is noticed that the fish fauna biodiversity in Vietnamese reservoirs is deteriorating both in the number and production of economically significant species. The aims of the present study were to collate the information about fishing effort, CPUE, catch data then evaluate the fish yield trend, estimate the Maximum Sustainable Yield and Optimum Socking Density. The result showed that: Nui Coc fisheries stock was declining overtime; using Schaefer Model the MSY was 7, kg for 2001-2003 period and 5, kg in 2006-2008 period; the optimum stocking density was 1135 fish/ ha. These results brought out the need of implementing some fisheries management strategies to optimize the fish yield in the water body. INTRODUCTION Fish from inland water capture fisheries are an important source of animal proteins, especially in landlocked countries and for population riparian to lakes and rivers. Beard Jr et al., (2011) noticed that inland fisheries provide a vital source of commerce, employment, nutrition and recreation for people throughout the world (FAO, 2008-2009; Welcomme, ., et al., 2010). This is particular so in subsistence and artisanal inland fisheries, where fisheries constitute a “Safety net” for millions of rural poor people by providing an essential source of food and supplement income. Nui Coc Fisheries Station is an adherent of Thai Nguyen Irrigation Management Co. Ltd (IMC), under control of people’s committee of Thai Nguyen Province. The latter is in charge of promoting aquaculture development on the reservoir as well
