This project seeks to describe the barriers and opportunities for young women in the new economy, and outline how CED can address poverty among young women. We are attempting to understand which community supports help young women, and how we could build CED into the current network of community-based organizations they already use. Using a feminist, social justice approach we document the realities of young women ages 15 ñ 24, who make use of community programs and thus can suggest action to improve their economic status and quality of life, thereby identifying opportunities to develop an ìup streamî. | Inspired by the 2010 Index of Economic Freedom ana wnat to DO About It By Terry Miller and Kim R.
