Tuberculosis is a major public health problem and second largest cause of death among infectious diseases. Rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis and detection of drug resistance is essential for effective disease control. Control of TB is hindered by the lack of a simple and effective diagnostic tool that can be utilised in resource limited settings. Molecular techniques using Real time PCR technology have gained momentum for rapid diagnosis and detection of drug resistance. To study the prevalence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Rifampicin resistance in Kurnool district by using Truenat chip based micro PCR system and to understand the demographical distribution of cases attending the tertiary care hospital. | Truenat - A novel diagnostic tool for rapid detection of mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampicin resistance in pulmonary samples
