Hitch has not been much studied. The flower-heads contained essential oil as P-phellandrene limonene Ỵ-terpinene trans-P-caryophyllene and a-pinene 1 . The aerial parts contained two eudesmanolide sesquiterpene lactones and an ent-kaurenic derivative as presented below 2 3 . General Column chromatography was carried out on silica gel 60H Merck. Mp. uncorrected. The IR spectrum was recorded on IR-470 Shimadzu. 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR were obtained on Bruker Avance 500 MHz and 125 MHz for compound 1 on Bruker AC 200 MHz and 50 MHz for compounds 2 and 3 . 2. Plant material Wedelia trilobata was collected at Ho Chi Minh City and was identified by pharmacist Nguyen Duc Binh Department of Pharmacy University of Medicine Ho Chi Minh City. 3. Extraction and Isolation Dried and powdered whole plant of W. trilobata 1300 g was macerated in ethanol
