Solutions to this end are two-fold. CED needs to support skill development in non- traditional fields for women. For example women learn best in non-intimidating environments, and an all-female training and construction crew would be an excellent CED activity to meet the Canadian housing shortage. At the same time, itís important to work strategically toward improving wages in traditionally female occupations, such as childcare, and sewing operators.
