Traditional Project Management at a Glance According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK a project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service. 1 Projects are typically divided into phases in order to provide better control of the project s progress and deliverables each phase has a prescribed set of deliverables.
