Methods This is a secondary anaiysis of a ciinicai triai evaiuating pregabaiin in patients with posttraumatic peripherai neuropathic pain N 254 . Regression modeis were used to determine associations between changes in pain 0-10 NRS as the predictor and scores on the foiiowing PRO measures as the outcome Pain Interference Index Hospitai Anxiety and Depression Scaie anxiety and depression subscaies Medicai Outcomes Study-Sieep Scaie 9-item Sieep Probiems Index and Sieep Disturbance subscaie and Daiiy Sieep Interference Scaie 0-10 NRS . Results Change in pain severity showed ciear direct reiationships with changes in function anxiety depression and sieep PROs aii of which were statisticaiiy significant P .001 . Resuits from subgroup anaiyses 30 or 50 pain responders pregabaiin or piacebo treatment age 51 years or 51 years tended to be consistent with resuits from the overaii sampie. Conclusions Overaii a direct reiationship exists between pain and various aspects of patient s weii-being and functioning which can provide a quantitative assessment of how improvements in pain may be expected to reiate to other patient outcomes. http .
