The WorldDSL HDSL management system consists of the following Management cards The EMU-830 L4 L6 are Exchange Office Management Units EMUs that install in a WorldDSL Exchange Office Management Shelf EMS . EMUs provide a single point interface for local or remote ASCII access and as the Simple Network Management Protocol SNMP agent for WorldDSL graphical user interface GUI software applications. Management software The Java-based EES-897 is a SNMP software package for managing up to 250 WorldDSL shelves EMS . This GUI-based single user software package is easy to use and includes its own auto-discovery and trap receiver. EES-897 runs on either Windows or Sun workstations. StarGazer WorldDSL is a Java-based SNMP software package that adds client server capability to WorldDSL management as well as a host of features such as elaborate security and segmentation features an alarm browser automatic data collection and data export. WorldDSL 6 03 1265730 WorldDSL Local and Remote Management of HDSL and Circuits EMU-830 Management Card The EMU-830 inserts into a dedicated management card slot in any EMS-83x shelf to provide centralized management. Available with or without external clock input the EMU-830 automatically polls and formats data from each line card to quickly respond to SNMP requests from either the EES-897 or StarGazer WorldDSL management software packages. It serves as the SNMP agent as well as a communications path between all 16 installed modems and associated customer premise modems and doublers.
