This causes an adverse effect on the hydraulic regime of flow through the bridge may increase the risk of flooding scour under the bridges even the bridge collapses. This paper presents measures to minimize debris accumulation including structural and non-structural one. The criteria set of evaluation and selection for countermeasures against the debris accumulation in accordance with the specific conditions of the bridge is also detailed. Three recommended measures of debris control countermeasures for Ngoi Thia bridge provincial highway Yen Bai including debris deflector debris fins and debris sweeper at upstream of bridge piers were presented as well. However it is necessary to make an economic - technical comparison to get the best measure.
