Certain leader styles and attributes are more effective in some situations than in others. Careful selection, retention , and empowerment of employees (followers) are linked to better performance Adequate monitoring and organizational checks and balances are crucial to constructive leadership outcomes. Leaders who fail often do so because they cannot build, motivate, or retain strong and effective teams. Leader ability to persuade and motivate is related to the importance of the group goals to the individual followers. Leadership outcomes are temporary and they can vary from constructive to destructive.
