TAILIEUCHUNG - Performance evaluation of F2 and F3 progenies in bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L) for qualitative and quantitative traits
An experiment was carried in Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam, during observation were recorded on the following traits, vine length, node at which first female flower appears, days to appearance of first female flower, number of female flowers per vine, days to first fruit harvest, number of fruits per vine, sex ratio, fruit yield per vine, fruit length, average fruit weight, fruit width, fruit cavity, flesh thickness, total soluble solids, protein, ascorbic acid, iron and momordicine content. The highest mean recorded in cross P1×P5 ranked the higher order for vine length, node at which first female flower appears, days to appearance of first female flower, number of female flowers per vine, number of fruits per vine, days to first harvest, fruit yield per vine, fruit length, fruit width, average fruit weight, ascorbic acid content, iron, total soluble solids and momordicine content in F2 and F3 generations. | Performance evaluation of F2 and F3 progenies in bitter gourd Momordica charantia L for qualitative and quantitative traits
