TAILIEUCHUNG - A study of selected carbon fractions in soil under arecanut based cropping systems of coastal zone of Karnataka

An investigation was undertaken at, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, College of Agriculture, UAHS, Shivamogga to a study of selected carbon fractions in soil under Areca nut based cropping systems of coastal zone (10) of Karnataka. Among the cropping systems studied, arecanut + mixed recorded higher mean potassium permanganate oxidizable organic carbon( kg-1 ), cold water extractable carbon ( kg-1 ), total carbon ( g kg-1 ), total organic carbon ( kg-1 ), total inorganic carbon ( kg-1 ) and soil microbial biomass carbon ( kg-1 ) fractions as compared to other cropping systems and decreases with lower depth and carbon fractions were higher in 0-30cm soil depth. | A study of selected carbon fractions in soil under arecanut based cropping systems of coastal zone of Karnataka
