This article highlights the effects of the four industrial revolutions and especially the impacts of the ongoing fourth industrial revolution (IR ) in the VET sector. Implications of the 4th industrial revolution for the VET sector Up to now, the world has undergone four industrial revolutions, which are labeled as IR , IR to IR , when using the codes of the Information Technology (IT). The stages between industrial revolutions and could be tagged as IR and IR , etc. In other words, industrial revolutions are sequences of evolutionary events, which are characterized by leaps forwards and by subsequent bounds. At the end of 18th century, the first industrial revolution occurred with the invention of steam engine and later the development of mechanics and semi-automatic industrial production. In order to provide a sufficient number of wellprepared workers for such changes in new production systems, the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has been gradually shaped to provide training for the newly emerging occupations in the technical field. At the same time, the focus was shifted from academic education to practical training to meet the new and emerging demands for modern workers’ qualifications in the manufacturing industry, even at a low level. The IR came at the end of 19th century with the development of energy sector and the application of electrical energy in production chains and in daily life. This development led to strong and diversified demands for training by TVET systems for new .
