A realistic indoor scene is typically populated by several different kinds of furniture objects, but only a few of the many possible spa- tial arrangements of these objects are functional and livable. For example, the front of a television or computer screen should not be blocked, since it is supposed to be visible. Furthermore, most of the objects in the scene should be accessible to human habitants. These investigations are conducted under the authority of Section 20 a 6 of the Occupational Safety and Health OSHA Act of 1970 29 . 669 a 6 which authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services following a written request from any employer or authorized representative of employees to determine whether any substance normally found in the place of employment has potentially toxic effects in such concentrations as used or found.
