Castleberry June 14 2011 It is the last day of the universe entropy has won the long battle for the soul of all that is. It is the end of time. I sit in my chair before the picture window looking out at the hospital grounds as the universe runs down I have noticed that there is less energy in everything around me. The food that I consume seems to not provide any strength the lights both natural and artificial seem dimmer the world seems less clear and sharp. Looking out the window the grass blades seem brittle as if they are delicate shards of crystal stained green the trees at the edge of the lawn are plastic with only the form of life. Birds and squirrels move in the trees their motions looking more of wind-up toys than living creatures. I wonder if the birds will fall to the ground and lie there flopping unable to gain the sky as the energy runs out this will not be a thing of beauty but I have never shied from reality however ugly so I will watch. I wonder what an absence of energy is like will the universe fade to black around me Where will I be left sitting as it all goes away Maybe it will not go away but come to final rest nothing moving no sound no thought the Is in the perfect preserved moment. My mind is drifting unable to hold fast to any one thought I will not be remembered for all that I have done nor for all that I have failed to accomplish. My life seems a wasted spurt of .
