TAILIEUCHUNG - Card Project Report: "Sustainable and profitable development of acacia plantations for sawlog production in Vietnam - MS 3 "

This paper reviews results from recent clinical research and current students of planting Acacia in Vietnam. The practice review including site preparation, vegetation control, stocking application, fertilizer, pruning and thin. The review found that the growth of colloidal answer for all practical sivilcultural some degree, but the different effects depending on the species and the environment. Mounding grew better than A. crassicarpa and A. auriculiformis in the central coastal area flooding is common during the rainy season. Mounding the most suitable size of m height and 4 width for A. crassicarpa m and m height and m width. | CARD Project Report 032 05 Sustainable and profitable development of acacia plantations for sawlog production in Vietnam MS 3 Effects of site management practices and silviculture on productivity of short rotation Acacia plantations in Vietnam - a review . The practices considered include soil preparation vegetation control fertiliser application stocking pruning and thinning. The review showed that the growth of Acacia responded to all sivilcultural practices to some degrees however the effects varied depending on the species and environment. Mounding gave better growth of A. crassicarpa and A. auriculiformis in the coastal central region where flooding is common in the rainy season. The most suitable mounding size was m in height and 4 m in width for A. crassicarpa and m in height and m in width for A. auriculiformis. After harvest of the first-rotation crop of A. auriculiformis retention of slash and litter at the site conserved organic matter and nutrients and also increased stem volume by 10 compared with treatments with no slash retention at four years of age. Height growth and survival rate were not significantly affected by residue retention. Increased growth was due to diameter. Ridweed paraquat chloride herbicide can be used to control vegetation. However the results indicated that there were no significant differences in mean height or mean stem diameter between the different herbicide treatments tested. Multiple leaders led to differences in standing volume but there was no indication that this was associated with the herbicide treatments. Application of fertiliser at planting and six months after planting promoted .
