Write another word in a much smaller - but visible -script on the board students copy it. Finally write a word in illegibly small script. Elicit It s too small. Point to the first word and ask Is it small Students should reply No. Point to the second word and ask Is it small The expected answer is Yes. Ask them Is it too small The expected answer is No. Tell them It s small - in fact it s very small - but it s not TOO small. Finally point at the third word and ask Is it small Yes Is it too small Yes . Review this sequence again by contrasting the second and third words This word is very small. This word is too small. 2.
