TAILIEUCHUNG - Performance of different radish varieties under foothill region Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India

The present study was conducted to study the performance of six different varieties for foothill region Dehradun, Uttrakhand. The varieties were Korean cross, Long red, Menu Early, Snow white, Scarlet red globe and Local check. The analysis revealed highly significant differences Maximum plant height (), leaf length ( cm), fresh weight of leaves ( g), fresh weight per plant ( g) and total dry weight content ( g) was found maximum in Menu Early, while for length of roots ( cm), fresh weight of root ( g), total yield of radish root ( t/h) and dry weight of radish root ( g), the variety Korean cross performed better than the other varieties. The maximum width of the root ( cm) was recorded in variety Scarlet red globe. So the variety Snow white, Korean cross and Menu Early were found to be superior for yield and quality attributes and is recommended to grow under hill region of Dehradun. Among genotypes for all the traits, per cent germination ( %), yield of leaves ( t/h), total yield ( t/h) and dry weight of leaves ( g) was found maximum in Snow white, while maximum number of leaves per plant was observed in Local check. | Performance of different radish varieties under foothill region Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India
