Severe dengue infections may give rise to many complications such as liver failure, disseminated intravascular coagulation, encephalopathy, myocarditis, acute renal failure and haemolytic uraemic syndrome. ST segment and T wave changes in the electrocardiogram together with low ejection fraction and global hypokinesia on radionuclide ventriculography have been found. Hence, this study was intended to assess the cardiac manifestations in dengue fever patients. To determine the clinical profile of Dengue patients in the study and to Study the cardiac manifestations in patients with dengue fever. This study was a hospital based study conducted in Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli.
