TAILIEUCHUNG - Synthesis and investigation of metallic corrosion inhibition of some azomethines from substituted anilines and p-nitrobenzaldehyde

A series of seven azomethines has been synthesized from p-nitrobenzaldehyde and different substituted anilines. The structures of products have been determined by the data of IR-spectra. All obtained azomethines have metallic inhibition corrosion capacities on CT-3 steel and aluminum in different levels: the protection effects were 41-57% on CT-3 steel and 83-92% on aluminum. I - INTRODUCTION The azomethines were paid special attention to study due to their significant chemical and biological properties 1 such as the activities antibacterial anti-inflammation growth stimulus etc. In the later time some of them have the metallic corrosion inhibition capacity for example on copper aluminum steel . 2 - 4 . Continuing the researches in the field of the metallic corrosion inhibition properties of azomethines we have synthesized and investigated these properties of some azomethines from substituted anilines and p-nitrobenzaldehyde. II - EXPERIMENTAl Melting points of the synthesized compounds were measured by using Thiele s apparatus in capillary and uncorrected. The IR-spectra were recorded on NICOLET-760 Spectrometer in form of mixing with KBr and using reflex-measure method at the Petrol-660 Chemical Center Hanoi University of Science VNU . The aluminum samples for this case are aluminum plates containing Mn Fe - Cu Zn Ti Ni - 95 Al with dimension of cm. The steel CT-3 samples containing C Mn S P Si trace and Fe.
