TAILIEUCHUNG - METAMATERIAL

Metamaterials, . artificial materials with properties not found in nature (Caloz & Itoh, 2006; Marqués et al., 2008), have gained a lot of attention in the past decade. The virtually unlimited freedom in tailoring their constitutive parameters created hopes for the realization of unique devices, such as subwavelength lenses and invisibility cloaks, which were essentially impossible to achieve with classical materials. However, the implementation of such devices has been hindered by the inherent limitation of conventional metamaterials: non-perfect homogeneity due to the periodicity being insufficiently smaller than the wavelength, high insertion and thermal losses due to the conduction properties of the constituent elements and narrow bandwidth caused by. | METAMATERIAL Edited by Xun-Ya Jiang Metamaterial Edited by Xun-Ya Jiang Published by InTech Janeza Trdine 9 51000 Rijeka Croatia Copyright 2012 InTech All chapters are Open Access distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution license which allows users to download copy and build upon published articles even for commercial purposes as long as the author and publisher are properly credited which ensures maximum dissemination and a wider impact of our publications.
