Data for this report come from a sample of 10 189 respondents who participated in the first followup survey of the National Longitudinal Study of the High School Class of 1972 NLS and were enrolled full time during the 1972-73 academic year. Distribution of student Aid NLS estimates indicate that 52 percent of all fulltime freshmen received some kind of financial aid .
