TAILIEUCHUNG - Guide to HIV, pregnancy & women’s health

The age until which children are permitted to stay in prison with their mothers varies considerably across the WHO European Region. With a range from zero to six years old, the age of three years is the most common age limit for children to stay with their mother in European prisons. Norway is the only European country that totally prohibits children from staying with their mother in prison (Quaker Council for European Affairs, 2007). There could be a relationship between the category of prison, the average length of sentence and the policy governing children staying with their mothers. | Guide to HIV pregnancy women s health KM i-ba e 0808 800 6013 HIV i-Base ISSN 1475-0740 Watch for out-of-date information Diagnosed with HIV in pregnancy How HIV is transmitted to a baby Mothers health Having an HIV-negative baby HIV pregnancy women s health Contents Introduction 4 Background and general questions 6 Protecting and ensuring the mother s health 16 Mother to child transmission 18 Planning your pregnancy 21 Prenatal care and HIV treatment 31 Resistance monitoring and other tests 39 HIV drugs and the baby s health 43 Choices for delivery and use of Caesarean section 45 After the baby is born 48 Feeding your baby 50 Support pages 52 Feedback 59 i-Base publications order form 60 2 September 2011 Phoneline 0808 800 6013 Monday-Wednesday 12am-4pm This booklet is about HIV and pregnancy.
