Facilities that have already obtained coverage under the old MSGP should continue to implement their Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan SWPP and comply with the requirements in the MSGP. Facilities that have not yet obtained coverage under the old MSGP should develop their Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and complete an application form for coverage under the requirements of the old MSGP until a new permit is issued. This template is intended to help auto recyclers obtain coverage under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Multi-Sector General Permit NPDES-MSGP to authorize storm water from automobile salvage yards to be discharged at a point source to a receiving water of the United States.
