Growing up, Robert had a natural gift for styling hair – thanks to his three sisters! His start in the beauty business was quite traditional, building his experience at a salon called Visible Changes. Robert was a stylist there until one day someone suggested him to a modeling agency to do hair and makeup for a photo shoot and he’s been on the go ever since. His makeup training comes from years of studying art. Starting at a very young age, he began studying painting and drawing. He actually even studied on a scholarship at The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston Texas. Because of his art studies he brings an artist’s eye to his work, applying the rules of light, undertones, and blending to some of the world’s most recognizable faces. Robert has traveled the world working on magazine shoots and with numerous celebrities, from rock stars to actresses, including the likes of Sheryl Crow, Bridget Moynahan, Leanne Rimes, Dianne Carroll, and the Dixie Chicks. Robert’s work has graced the pages of national publications such as Marie Claire, Allure, In Style, Jane, Elle, Shape, Glamour, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, Life & Style, and many other fashion catalogs and magazines. Robert’s commercial clients include Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord and Taylor, Olay, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Nexxus among many others. One of his main goals in authoring Makeup Makeovers and then later Makeup Makeovers: Weddings was to help women realize that they are all beautiful.
