Pseudococcidae was studied under laboratory conditions at constant temperatures of 25 C and 30 C 80 RH and a photoperiod of 16 8 h L D using leaves of papaya Carica papaya L. as food. Papaya mealybug had 2 types of metamorphisms complete and incomplete metamorphism. In complete metamorphic type papaya mealybug passed through stages of egg nymph 3 instars and female adult. Meanwhile in incomplete metamorphic hypermorphosis type they passed through the stages of egg nymph 2 instars pre- o pupa pupa and male adult. To develop from the egg to the male adult they needed days at 25 C and o o days at 30 C. Similarly to develop from the egg to female adult they needed days at 25 C and days o o o at 30 C. Their life cycle was completed in days at 25 C and in days at 30 C. In this study papaya mealybug was parthenogenesis though adult males presented on their population. Fecundity of a female varied o o from eggs female at 30 C to eggs female at 25 C. Female adults could live in on average of o o days at 30 C and 25 C respectively. Male adults had a short longevity on average only of days. Papaya mealybug was found on 13 species of host .
