Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. Millsp) is the most important grain legume grown in India. The crop is affected at various stages of the crop. Among the biotic stress stresses, Alternaria blight, caused by Alternaria tenussima is one of the most important foliar diseases of pigeonpea. Management of this disease through chemicals pesticides is not feasible and it affects the human, animal and ultimate causes the environmental pollution.
