An attempt was made to isolate, screen and evaluate lactic acid bacteria for its phosphate solubilization potentiality both under in vitro and in vivo conditions. In the course of investigation as many as five lactic acid bacterial isolates were obtained from milk and milk products and all the five isolates were characterized as Lactobacillus sp. based on morphological and biochemical studies. Further, when all the lactic acid bacterial isolates tested for the phosphate solubilization ability, the isolate LAB – 5 (Lactobacillus sp.) showed maximum phosphate solubilization ability on the Sperber’s media. | Utilization of lactic acid and phosphate solubilizing bacterial consortia for healthy spinach Spinacia oleracea cultivation
