After acupuncture needles were inserted bilaterally into the acupoints Pi yu Wei yu and Guan yuan yu electronic stimulation 5 Hz and 10 V 20 minutes was conducted once a day for 3 days consecutively. Modified moxa p atch w as also ap plie d at the same acupoints as in acupuncture for 3 d ays consecutively. Ten among tw elve cows with abom asal displacement were recovered by electroacupuncture and m oxibustion but two were treated with paramedian abom asopexy. It is considered that electroacupuncture and moxibustion m ay be convenient safe and economical therapeutic alternatives available instead of surgical procedures on abom asal displacem ent in d airy cattle. Key words electroacupuncture moxibustion displacement abomasum cattle Introduction Although the su ccess rate of surgical cor r ect ion of abomasal displacement in cattle is high there have been many problems associated with surgical cor r ect ion including owner s anxiety high cost and post oper at ive complications 1 11 . In recent reports on veterinary acupuncture it has been known that acupuncture at some acupoint s related to digestive syst em was effect ive in increasing its motility 4 6 .
