This book has been in the making since 2002, when the Ford Foundation generously gave a grant to the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) for a project to explore the linkages between trade liberalization, women’s employment, and reproductive health and rights at the macro- and micro-levels. ICRW organized a series of exploratory meetings in 2002 and 2003 with experts from around the world to understand the issues in the different regions and to develop a framework that could be useful to both scholars and activists for understanding the pathways by which the liberalization of trade affects the provision of and women’s access to reproductive health care services | Trading Women s Health Rights Trade Liberalization and Reproductive Health in Developing Economies ề EDITED BY Caren Grown Elissa Braunstein Anju Malhotra Trading Women s Health and Rights Trade Liberalization and Reproductive Health in Developing Economies edited by Caren Grown Elissa Braunstein and Anju Malhotra ZED BOOKS London New York Trading Women s Health and Rights Trade Liberalization and Reproductive Health in Developing Economies was first published in 2006 by Zed Books Ltd. 7 Cynthia Street London N1 9JF UK and Room 400 175 Fifth Avenue New York NY 10010 USA www.zedbooks.co.uk Editorial copyright Caren Grown 2006 Individual chapters individual contributors 2006 The moral right of the editors has been asserted.
