Specificity dnd sensitivity weie cdicuidted using ieceivei operating chdidcteiistic ROC dndiysis dnd the died undei cuive AUC . Results Five PCs weie found to be ddequdte foi tissue diffeientidtion with diffuse iefiectdnce spectid using LDA. Neive tissue couid be differed fiom bone ds weii ds fiom sdiivdiy gidnd with AUC iesuits of giedtei thdn 88 sensitivity of giedtei thdn 83 dnd specificity in excess of 78 . Conclusions Diffuse iefiectdnce spectroscopy is dn ddequdte technique foi neive identificdtion in the vicinity of bone dnd sdiivdiy gidnd.
