While rates of bill problems and medical debt were high among both insured and uninsured adults, those who spent any time uninsured reported the highest rates of difficulties in all categories. More than half (53%) of adults who had spent any time uninsured reported debt or bill problems, compared with 26 percent of people who were insured all year (Figure 5).
