Data was colleted though interviewing 32 fishermen 34 hatcheries in Tan Thuan commune of Dam Doi district and Tan An commune district of Cà Mau province.Inaddition 23 traders of level 1 and 13 traders of level 2 were also interviewed to get the information on trading of brood-stock. The results showed that most offishermen capturing brood-stocks came from Bac Lieu province. Average numbers of caught brood-stock were 86 565 females year and 36 564 males year. Average body weight offemales was 160-14.5g and that of males was 96.1-8.30 g. Price of brood-stock sold at fishing ground was 709 375-588 250 VND female and 34 063-18 608 VND male. Each fishing boat could catch 2 390 - 1 132 shrimps year. The main fishing grounds were Bai Can about 125km from Rach Goc located at 7-8o45 N latitude and around Khoai island at 103-105oE longitude with the expanse of rock sandy bottom and 30m depth. Each primary traders could provide 3 343-2 934 brood-stock year to hatcheries and other broodstock-related business and 5.785-4.036 brood-stock year to secondary traders conisting of 934.6-701.7 males year and 1 596-1 133 females year. Price of brood-stock provided by primary traders was 826 087-407 771 VND female and 78 043-32 604 VND male. The price was 1 321 154-576 795 VND female and 109 615-12 659 VND male in the case of selling to secondary traders. About 42 000 brood-stocks were used by the hatcheries in Ca Mau per year the remainings were sold to other provinces. Price of broodstock bought by the hatcheries was 1 950 000-410 000 VND female and 120 000-18 745 VND male. Average size of females was 189-13 g ind. .
