Understanding institutions to successful institutional reform

All economists agree that institutions play an important role to economic performance and sustainable development in the long run. Appropriate institutions allow the economy to adjust toward new structure. Many efforts taken to improve institutional environment, however, achievements are moderate. With the research, we try to clarify the concept of institutions and their role to economic performance, refer the evidence of the role of institutions to prosperity of nations in the long run, examine theories of institutions. |
