Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains represent a worldwide threat because of their virulence and broad distribution in the hospital settings and community. MRSA strains are often resistant to beta lactam antibiotics and also to flouroquinolones, chloramphenicol, clindamycin, tetracycline and aminoglycosides. In addition, resistance is shown to recently develop anti-staphylococcus agents including the Oxazolidione and Streptogramin. |
