Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] is ranked number one among major oil crops and is the second most important oil seed crop of India. There has been significant growth in both area under cultivation and production, however, it still has lower productivity. In the present study, use of SSR markers has been made to study genetic diversity in the Indian soybean cultivars and for their identification. Ninety-six soybean cultivars were used and genetic diversity was assessed using 49 microsatellite markers distributed across the soybean genome. A total of 230 bands were amplified of which 229 bands were found to be polymorphic. | Molecular diversity analysis and cultivar identification using simple sequence repeat SSR markers in soybean Glycine max L.
