Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important food and cash crop with multifarious usages for resource poor farmers in Asia and Africa. Groundnut yield is constrained mainly due to two major foliar fungal diseases namely, late leaf spot and rust. The regular incidence of these diseases warrants the development of resistant cultivars and the recent advances in the area of crop genomics offer tools to assist breeding in groundnut. | Validation of SSR markers for foliar disease resistance in groundnut Arachis hypogaea L.
