The manifestations of essential tremor usually worsen with age. In addition, there is some evidence that people with essential tremor are more likely than average to develop other neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's or Alzheimer's diseases, especially if the tremor first appears after 65 years old [4, 5, 6, 7].
