The present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of aqueous extract and dry extracts of 12 different plant species against C. gloeosporioides the causal agent of mango anthracnose under natural disease epidemics. Significant difference was observed among the extracts in their effect on suppressing the mycelial growth of the pathogen under in vitro conditions. None of the extracts were able to completely prevent the development of the pathogen. However, most of the extracts significantly reduced disease development over the control. Among the fresh plant extracts, at 7.5% concentration, maximum inhibition was noticed in the Simarouba glauca extract with upto 59.41% mycelial inhibition followed by 50.03% by Lawsonia inermis and Azadirachta indica with 58.84 % mycelial inhibition. Among the dry powder extracts, at 7.5% concentration, Moringa oleifera showed a maximum inhibition of 40.81% followed by S.glauca with 37.64% inhibition and 32.25% inhibition with Geranium sanguineum. | Evaluating eco-friendly botanicals against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides causing anthracnose of mango
