In order to document the medicinal plants and their applications, a field survey was undertaken at Mahadeva hill which is located 28 Km away from Vellore city and 60 k.m. from Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, TamilNadu, India. An attempt has been made to identify the medicinal plants traditionally used by the people of the region and also to preserve the traditional heritage. Further this study highlights the risks of extensive human exploitation of biodiversity of the region.
