Jamun (Syzygium cumini Skeels.) is an important minor indigenous fruit, belongs to the family Myrtaceae. It is native to India and Myanmar; however, it has naturalized throughout the South East Asia and Pacific regions. Jamun is also an important source of nutraceuticals especially its use in treating diabetes in traditional medicine.
