In 1913, when his works “Libido’s variation and symbol, Psychology of unconsciousness ”. was published, he retired from the post of the president of the World Association of Psycho-analysis and patiently made a research into unconsciousness in psychology on his own way and set up a foundation for a new research school called Psycho-analisis with Jungism. Jung supposed that the unconscious self is simply a part of unconsciousness, called Individual unconsciousness, which is a thin layer below consciousness. There is also a deeper layer of unconsciousness called collective unconsciousness making him different from Freud.
