NIJ Director Jeremy Travis recently announced that he will be leaving the Institute after 5 2 years to become a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute in Washington . On the afternoon of February 18 Mr. Travis sat down to discuss his tenure with esteemed criminologist Alfred Blumstein the J. Erik Jonsson University Professor of Urban Systems and Operations Research at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Blumstein is a former dean of the Heinz School and is the Director of the National Consortium on Violence Research.
