Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện trong các trại sản xuất giống cá của Trường Cao đẳng Thuỷ sản và Thuỷ sản, Đại học Cần Thơ từ tháng bảy năm 2007 đến tháng 9 năm 2007. Hai thí nghiệm trong nhà đã được tiến hành cho thời hạn 30 ngày. Two indoor experiments were conducted for duration of 30 days. Whisker sheatfish fries were nursed in 35 L plastic tanks at a density of fry L. Experiment 1 was designed to evaluate the effects of different live feed diets on acceptability growth and survival rate of the fries. The experiment was randomly set up with 4 treatments 3 replications each. Whisker sheatfish fries were fed with 4 types of feed including oligochaetes Tubifex waterflea Moina Artermia nauplii and a combination of Moina and Tubifex. In Experiment 2 fish fries were fed with artificial feed at different time after stocking including day 1 3 5 7 9 and 11 corresponding to 6 treatments with 3 replicates each. Temperature pH and dissolved oxygen were measured daily at 8 00 am and 2 00 pm. At the end of experiments all fries were weighed individually to calculate growth and survival rate. The results showed that the most preferable live feeds for Whisker sheatfish fries were Tubifex treatment 1 or the combination of moina and tubifex treatment 4 . After 30 days of culture growth and survival rates offish in these treatments were significantly higher than that of other treatments p . Whishker sheatfish fries could be fed artificial diets at the 5th day after stocking or the 7th day after hatching.
