In the next section we will analyze some of the possible effects that can alter the process of controlled transport of electric charges in a h-SET turnstile configuration. The extension of the Coulomb blocked region to VSD values 0 is the peculiar feature of the hybrid assembly. This opens the possibility for such a device to operate as a turnstile. In fact we can operate the device along the pathway between points A and B with VSD 0 Fig. 5 . On the other hand the rate of unwanted intra-gap events increases when Vsd approaches 2A as described by eq. 19 . Thus the probability of both kinds of spurious events described by eqs. 19 and 20 reaches a maximum value either for Vsd 2A or Vsd 0 respectively.
