Until 1 January 2004 it owned and maintained much of the New South Wales rail network and provided access to passenger and freight operators. As a result of a restructure the Corporation s main role is now owner of the New South Wales country regional network manager of the ARTC lease agreements manager of non-core remaining assets and administrator of career transition services. The Government is currently planning a mini budget to be released on 11 November 2008. It is not known if the current plans for the rail network as follows will be amended as part of that budget.
