Inflammation of the iris and ciliary body is called anterior uveitis. It can be nongranulomatous or granulomatous. Idiopathic nongranulomatous anterior uveitis is the most common type of anterior uveitis which is known to be associated with the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) 827 in 50-60 percent of patients.
