By definition every gradient must have at least two colors which are commonly referred to as the starting and ending colors of the gradient. You can add colors to a gradient colors that come between the starting and ending colors. The colors that you add are called color stops. In InDesign you create gradients by clicking New Gradient Swatch on the Swatches menu. This opens the New Gradient Swatch dialog box as shown in Figure 44.
